Bunk I didn't use much didn"t use muchext
A little odd thing happened on the way to the war, I departed the United States on a Thursday the 12th and arrived in Vietnam on Saturday the 14th. It seems we had lost the 13th when crossing the International Dateline.  It just seemed strange that we had lost Friday the 13th.  Maybe an omen.             [ No disrespect intended here, just the sentiment at the time.]

As a final note, I would like to apologize for the quality of some of the pictures. It seems they have not survived the years as well as my memories of Vietnam. I am also sorry I couldn't show you any real action pictures. We were always too busy trying to do the job we were sent to do to take pictures. Let me assure you there were some very tense moments. The night time insertions were some of the most intense , be it by the NAVY on PBR's or by chopper.
Tex When our tour ended it was impossible to find a job for which most of us were trained to do. I was an 11B4P or a highly trained killing machine. "AIRBORNE"  We all did the best job we could do only to be shunned when we got home. We were not the heros we thought we were. Instead we were baby killers and war mongers. It's true that the US attitudes towards the war had changed, but it was hard to comprehend when you were out on a daily basis just trying to keep yourself and your men alive. Trying to do the job we were sent to do. It's for sure "sir charles" attitudes had not changed and his determination grew stronger every day.
